bug zapper

I bought Nathan a hand-held electric bug zapper tonight. It looks like a tennis racket. He was like a little kid on Christmas he is so excited. He has been running around inside & outside killing bugs all night. Do I know what to suprize my son with or what. The hot water pressure still does not work right. Kylie started out her shower tonight with some hot water pressure but by the end of her shower it was gone. So in order for her to rinse her hair I had to fill a bucket with hot water from the bathroom sink & had it to her so she could dump it on her hair. And I was multitasking and I was eating a bowl of cereal at the same time. My glasses are in so tomorrow morning I will pick them up. I'm excited to see correctly again. Kylie's car is in the shop, we will know tomorrow what is wrong with it. Hoping it doesn't cost too much.

water :(

Well Kylie goes to take a shower tonight and the hot water did not come out of the faucet.  I guess tomorrow Foster will have to once again try and fix it.  So once again in the morning in the dark I will be walking to grandma's to take a shower. Kylie & Nathan both did tonight.  I had a good evening with the kids.  I made chicken fettuccine for dinner and then we watched SVU together.  Hoping for a good weekend.  Going to my BFF's graduation on Saturday and Sunday is mother's day.  The kids have plans for me but I have no idea what.  They are trying really hard to surprise me.

water fixed

Foster got my hot water problem fixed today. I'm so excited, it was a pain to walk to grandma's when we needed to shower. We might be getting a pool for the summer. Kylie checked dome out today, grandma has agreed to pay for half. This weekend I'll go check some out myself :)

I can hear the bugs commiting sucide as they smash into the windows from outside. I'm just glad they are outside & not inside. Because if they were inside i'd have to clean up bug guts. My lige appears to revolve around bugs a lot these days. Maybe someday my life will revolve around something else.

7am this morning & I'm chasing chicken's around the yard, in my pj's. Trying to get them back into the chicken coop. I opened it to feed them & they decided it was time to jump out & run around the yard. Which it wasn't it was only feeding time. I was glad no one was watching cause I was quite funny in my purple pj dress & white crocs trying to catch the chicken. Ps-I have a fear of being pecked my the chickens when I try to pick them up. I ended up using a stick to herd them back into the coop.

air conditioner and new floor

Foster helped me put the new air conditioner in the living room yesterday.  Lance, Foster and Nathan put the new floor in Nathans room so now he can stop living/sleeping in the living room.  I'm working on laundry to start the new week tomorrow.  Kylie is working tonight until close.  I asked her to bring me cookies home. Subway has the best cookies ever and I've been craving chocolate today.  All 3 of the chicken's have been out and eating bugs and grass today.  I keep telling them "Eat all the ants, spiders, and bugs so that they won't come into the trailer.  I don't know if they listen to me or not.  Grandma got me some flowers that I need to go plant.  I guess that will be my last job for the day.

Chicken's & water

the water pressure for the hot water in the bath/tub shower has gone away. Saturday morning Kylie had to walk to grandma's to take a shower.  Everyday I feel like we are camping only it's fancy camping.  My mom has no idea what is wrong with the water pressure.  So for now everyday me and the kids will walk to grandma's to take a shower.  I went to Joplin this morning for my eye exam and my new glasses will be here in 7-10 days. I'm so excited I'll be able to see again.  My mom went to Joplin Saturday morning too, in the morning she bought two chickens (the real live kind).  I was leaving Joplin before her so I met up with her to bring the two chicken's home as it was hot on Saturday.  Well I get home and Lance get's the box with the chicken's in them and takes them to the chicken coop.  He come's back aournd to the front of the house about 10 minutes later.  I ask him "how are the chicken's" he says "one is dead but the other one is doing good".  So either the one chicken died while in my mom's car or it died while in my car. Either way I transported a dead chicken :(  Good news is that the chicken that survived laid an egg this morning. 

bug in my ear

In the middle of the night I get woke up by a weird noise and feeling in my right ear.  I'm freaking out, I realize I have a bug in my ear.  So as I'm half asleep I take a q-tip and put it in my ear.  This was a bad idea as I push the bug further into my ear canal and I kill it.  So now I have a dead bug in my ear.  I go back to bed as I have no idea how to get a dead bug out of my ear.  Morning comes and I can't hear right out of my ear.  My family comes over for lunch and I'm telling my mom about it.  She say's "maybe an ear candle will suck it out".  So she goes to her house and comes back with an ear candle.  I lay on the floor and she used the ear candle.  It's the weirdest feeling every having this candle in my ear sucking up ear wax and hopefully the dead bug.  After she is finished, she cuts open the ear candle and inside is a dead bug. Not sure what kind of bug but I don't really care cause it's out of my ear.

Mice tail and a snake

I walk over to my mom's house this morning and I find a mouse tail on the porch.  Not a body just a tail.  And in the cat dish on top of the cat food is a dead mouse.  From what my mom said after the mouse is caught in the mouse trap the dead mouse is then put ontop of the cat food for the cat to have a treat.  Wow really that is the fun that goes on when you live in the country.   then tonight I go to check out my brother's room at my mom's house and I look towards the wall and what do I see but a snake slithering across the wall.  I scream that I just saw a snake and my mom then yell's down to her friend to come help get the snake out of the room.  My mom's friend attempts to catch the snake but the snake was faster and it went under the chair. My mom said to not let Foster know about the snake as he will then not want to use this room as his room.  I will be contacting  Foster to let him know about his new roommate.  We got a new air conditoner for the trailer today.  I want to say thank you to Bright Futures they are a wonderful orginzation that have been helping me and the kids.  A little bit of good news about the water pressure in the bathroom.  I was able to take a shower this morning and I had enough water to not have to fill a pitcher with water from the kitchen first. 

Bugs, spiders, and day to day living

I now have to dig out dead bugs from my sink so that I can do dishes. Any by dishes I mean hand washing there is no dishwasher in this house.  The doors don't shut completely and the window's have plastic and aluminium foil over them. Yes I said aluminium foil, not sure why it was like that when we moved in.  I don't even have to turn the door knobs to get in my house.  All I do is push on the door.  I don't even have a key to my doors.  I don't think there is even keys.  The kids have to call grandma to kill jumping spiders.  I have to sort my trash into burnables and non burnable as there is no trash service in the country. We are getting another window air conditioner next week which will help when the heat starts.  In the bathroom the hot water has no pressure when you want to take a shower.  Yet in the bathroom and kitchen faucets the hot water comes out with too much pressure.  Last night I had to fill pitcher up with hot water from the kitchen so that Nathan could take a shower by dumping the hot water from the pitcher over his body.  I AM NOT A COUNTRY GIRL. THAT IS WHY I MOVED FROM THE COUNTRY WHEN I WAS 16.  Yet some how we will overcome this and we'll be a better family because of it.  Privacy, I do not know what that is anymore.  I see and spend more time with my children than I ever have in my life. I can't decide if we live like we are camping or if we live like we where staying in a hotel room.  I think it's a combo of both.  I have a fire ring right outside of my front door.  And to join in the fun my brother will be moving back in with my mom later this week. 

Cow crap

I get home tonight and all I can smell is cow crap....The joys of living in the country.  I then find out that we're out of cereal for breakfast in the morning.  I think to myself (I'll go to the grocery store and buy cereal) problem with that is that I got home from work at 8:30pm and the grocery store closed at 8pm......I need to get back to Joplin and my 24 hour grocery stores.

Monster Ants

My home is being invaded by BIG MONSTER ANTS. Just had to throw away cereal because the ants were enjoying a tasty treat. This city girl is not used to monster big ants, I mean I had little ants when I lived in the city. Never these monster size ants. I wonder what I could do to maybe get them to go find a new home. Guess I'll do a google search and see what I find.

Missouri taxes 2011

I filed my Missouri taxes today. Well I completed the form and will put it into the mail in the morning. I cooked lunch for Nathan and my brother Foster and then they had a good afternoon playing Playstation 3 games. Kylie got home from after working all weekend. We rented the girl with the dragon tattoo. It was an interesting movie, now I want to read the book. Time for sleep and another busy busy week :)

I can't handle this

So I've been in the country for one week now. Not sure if I will be able to handle this. Today my mom took something that was mine that I was storing in her house. I just gave up and told her fine just keep it. She continued to tell me that someone had told her she could have it. Tonight Nathan freaked out over the bugs in the house. He is not doing well at all with being here. And I agree that it all really sucks. But I have no other options at the moment, so some how we will all have to deal with it and hope that we don't go insane in the process.

moving back

Well as of April 7th, 2012 myself and my two teenager's have moved back to my childhood property. We went from a 3 bedroom newer home located in Royal Heights in Joplin, Missouri to a 2 bedroom trailer that was built in the 1960's. The trailer is sitting on my parent's land in Sarcoxie, Missouri. Financially it's been a very difficult year and after much debating and fighting I found that it was the best for me and my children to move back home. I fought with the decision for several months before I admited to myself that it was the only option that I had. I didn't want to move into a trailer, located on my parent's property, in the smallest town ever (I know it's not but it sure feels like it is). I didn't even tell any of my friends I was moving. I did post it on FB but only about a week before we moved. So now instead of having the best neighbor ever, my neighbor is my mother & her BF. My dad passed away in July 2010, but that will be for a different post. The positive's and negative's of the move, financially it is better (the plan is that by September I'll be caught up financially and can move back to Joplin, the kids have internet access (no more going to McDonalds for hours to do homework), it is quiet, I have tree's around me, Nathan has chicken's that he's taking care of, my mother and her BF live within 40 feet of me, I have an hour drive to work each day, Kylie & Nathan have a drive of 20 minutes to school, Joplin Schools allowed the kids to stay going to JHS :),

The day my daddy died!!

July 7th 2010 my dad Lester Paul Turner, born September 29th, 1943 died at St. John's Hospital in Joplin, Mo. My dad went into the hospital on June 2, 2010 for a quadruple heart bypass. After the bypass he was placed into a medical coma. After 35 days of being in a medical coma and all medical procedures had been exhausted he was taken off of the tracheostromy. My dad signed a DNR before he went into the hospital. My dad died within 20 minutes after being taken off of the machines. My mom, sister, two brothers, my daughter and my best friend along with myself were all in the CVICU room when he passed away. We have planned a Memorial Service for July 24th at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Sarcoxie.
